Milen Yimer
week 2 prompt 2
The air would be thick but it's not the fog
or any mist
nor from a candle's wick
Chatter can be heard for miles generations of women
cooking from aged papyrus waiting to feed those that come for the company and the smiles
Shades of black sit together
swapping stories with artistry
full bellies aching with laughter
despite the storms they've all weathered
A celebration
A culmination
of a year of surviving
and to somehow still thriving
