Capstone
In summer 2020, multiple generations of Youth Corps came together virtually to reflect on the year and share their voices in a Capstone Project inspired by Julian Rosefeldt’s Manifesto (2015). Guided by Teaching Artist Drew Petersen, 29 Youth Corps of all generations joined to collaboratively create a film while in quarantine.
In their own words: “We are young creative minds working collectively to experience and create unconventional art through Armory programming. This summer’s Capstone Program was an opportunity to use our youth voice through an online platform. Our mission at hand: filming a manifesto made up of our individual ideas, inspired by Julian Rosefeldt’s Manifesto. In this film, you are going to see a variety of different manifestos by each Capstone participant. We each have our own tone, visuals, and creative genius. Most importantly- each manifesto has its own message. This project has taught us the importance of using the arts as activism and inspiring conversation by sharing our creativity as a community. We look forward to everyone seeing all our work! Thank you for watching and enjoy!”
