How Do You Feel When You’re At the Education Table
When choosing a song that represents how I feel in the Youth Corps table, it was easy. I chose the song “We are Family” by Sister Sledge. I knew that this song was perfect because it is exactly what we are, one big family. We all accept each other's opinions and values. We all laugh and spend time together even outside of Youth Corps. Without the people I met a Youth Corps, I would not have been as open minded and friendly. I know that one day when the Armory is open again, we all welcome each other with open arms.
What Would You Magically Remove All Traces of From The Internet?
The internet can be a nice place to be but also can be a vicious place that can hurt people's feelings and image of themselves. If there was one thing I could magically remove from the internet, it would be photoshop and body shaming. This is something that is awful and vicious. It is truly disgusting to see people hurting others just to show that they are “better”. In reality, no one is better than others. Everyone’s body should be accepted for what they are no matter what others say. I see many people in today's society, using photoshop and editing apps to make themselves seem like the “ideal” girl or boy. With girls, it is particularly bad. Many of the girls want to have big lips and a super skinny body. But what many people fail to realize is that not everyone has the same body shape. It is also upsetting that many people decide to shame one person of someone's body but the second they photoshop it, people get judgemental. Most of the time, photoshop is used to please others so that they can get approval which can give self happiness. Personally, I do not see the point in changing how you look online because when people see you in person, they will see a different version. I never tried photoshop because I am too scared of what might happen. But I do think that we should all just accept ourselves no matter what others say. We were born a certain way and if you choose to change you are on the outside, just remember who you are on the inside.
What if a man with three sons married a woman with three daughters of her own? What crazy situations would happen?
Here is a story about a man named Bill who has three sons; Todd, Derek, and Scott. The four of them have been inseparable. Sadly, it wasn't just always the four of them Bill's wife unfortunately passed 10 years ago. But as of a year now, Bill is remarried to a woman named Sophie. Now Sophie has three daughters; Crystal, Donna, and Tanya. Sophie has been divorced for 7 years. Bill and Sophie met in Hawaii 3 years ago while they were both on vacation. Both of them decided not to tell their children in fear that they will make them stop talking. Sophie and Bill eventually told them after 10 months of dating. Bill's sons did not care much because they just wanted their father to be happy. On the other hand, Sophie's daughters were upset. They thought she would try to replace their father with Bill. Once Sophie reassured them, they were fine with the idea of their mom dating. Eventually, the two families decided to meet. After many dinners together, Bill finally proposed. Of course Sophie said yes. Both families were happy until the big move in. The boys were slobs and the girls were perfectionists. They would constantly argue about little things such as the bathroom situation, dinner, and even more. People would often call them ¨The Brady Bunch¨ because of their situation. All of the children hated it so they decided to just pretend they didn't know each other at school. Yes it might sound mean what they are doing to each other but weirdly it's their way of showing that they all care for each other. They knew that if they all were together constantly they would start resenting each other. Neither of the families wanted that because they knew deep down if it wasn't for all of the craziness between them, their family wouldn't be the same.
